Cambridge Ancient World video competition winners announced

The winners of the Cambridge Ancient World video competition, held by the Faculty of Classics, have been announced.

The Faculty of Classics at Cambridge is well known for putting the Ancient World on screen. With Mary Beard, Andrew Wallace-Hadrill, and others on the staff, Cambridge Classics academics are some of the most familiar faces on TV documentaries.

The Cambridge Ancient World Video Competition showcases the best of a new generation of Classicists in film, featuring entries from teams in Years 9-13, that is aged between 13 or 14 and 19.

After receiving over 60 entries, which were winnowed down to a shortlist of 13, the winners have been announced. 

With such a strong field of entries, one winner was not enough; there are three equal winners and two highly commended runners up.

The winners are:

The highly commended runners-up are:

The Catiline Conspiracy: The Catiline Conspiracy, Nower Hill High School

A Language Walks into a Bar: The Paragogic Nus, King Edwards School, Bath
